The Best Method: Using the Quick Menu
This is the fastest and easiest way to switch to your controller mic and manage its settings.
Open the Quick Menu: Press the PlayStation button on your controller once. This will open the Control Center at the bottom of the screen.
Select the Mic Icon: In the Control Center, navigate to the Mic icon.
Choose Your Input Device: Select the Input Device option. A list of available microphones will appear, including "Controller Microphone." Select this option to switch to the built-in mic.
Unmute Your Mic: A light on the physical mute button on your controller will turn orange if the mic is muted. Press this button to unmute it.
Adjust Microphone Level: To ensure your friends can hear you clearly, select "Adjust Microphone Level" from the same quick menu. Speak into the controller and move the slider until your voice is in the "Good" range on the on-screen indicator.
