How to Open Google Search on PS5 Internet Browser (Best Method)
1The PlayStation 5 does not have a dedicated, user-friendly web browser app on its home screen like the PS4 did. Sony intentionally made it difficult to access to focus the console on gaming and avoid potential security risks. However, there are a few clever workarounds to open a web browser and get to Google.
Method 1: The Message Trick (Best Method)
This is the fastest and most reliable way to get to a web browser and start searching.
Open a Chat: From your PS5 home screen, press the PlayStation button to bring up the Control Center. Navigate to the Game Base card (the chat icon) and select it.
Send a Link: Start a new message with a friend or a secondary account you own. In the message, simply type out www.google.com and send it.
Click the Link: The PS5 will automatically convert the text into a clickable link. Select the link you just sent to open the hidden web browser and land directly on Google's search page.
You can now use this browser to search for and navigate to other websites. You can even pin the browser to the side of your screen using the options in the Quick Menu.
