How to Fix the Locked Games on PS4 Console (Cant Play offline)
0To fix locked games on your PS4 console (games with a padlock icon that won’t launch), follow these steps:
Check your internet connection. Go to Settings, Network, Test Internet Connection to ensure you’re online, as locked games often relate to license verification.
Restore licenses. From the home screen, go to Settings, Account Management, Restore Licenses. Select Restore and wait for it to finish. This refreshes your game licenses tied to your PSN account.
Verify the PS4 is your primary console. Go to Settings, Account Management, Activate as Your Primary PS4. If it’s not activated, select Activate. If it says it’s already active elsewhere and you don’t have access, deactivate all devices via the PlayStation website (Account Settings, Device Management, Deactivate All—usable once every six months), then reactivate your PS4.
Sign out and back in. From Settings, Account Management, sign out of your PSN account, then sign back in with your email and password.
Re-download the game if it’s digital. Go to Library, find the locked game under Purchased, and select Download. If it’s a disc game, eject and reinsert the disc, ensuring it’s clean and undamaged.
Check PS Plus status if it’s a subscription game. Go to Settings, Account Management, Account Information, Subscriptions. If expired, renew it. If active, ensure your console is primary or you’re signed into the purchasing account.
