How to Reset iPhone if you Forgot the Password (100% Works!)
Method 1: Reset iPhone Using a Computer (Recovery Mode)
This is the most reliable method for resetting a locked iPhone.
Put iPhone in Recovery Mode: The steps depend on your iPhone model:
iPhone 8, iPhone X or later, iPhone SE (2nd/3rd generation):
Connect your iPhone to the computer via USB.
Press and quickly release Volume Up, then Volume Down.
Press and hold the Side button until the Recovery Mode screen appears (computer and cable icon).
iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus:
Connect your iPhone to the computer.
Press and hold Volume Down and Side buttons together until the Recovery Mode screen appears.
iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (1st generation), or earlier:
Connect your iPhone to the computer.
Press and hold Home and Side (or Top) buttons together until the Recovery Mode screen appears.
Open Finder or iTunes:
On macOS Catalina or later, open Finder and select your iPhone in the sidebar under “Locations.”
On Windows or macOS Mojave or earlier, open iTunes and click the iPhone icon in the top-left corner.
Restore the iPhone:
A pop-up in Finder/iTunes will detect the iPhone in Recovery Mode and offer Restore or Update.
Choose Restore to erase the iPhone and install the latest iOS. (Update may not work for a disabled iPhone.)
If no pop-up appears, manually select Restore iPhone in Finder/iTunes.
The computer will download the iOS firmware (10–30 minutes, depending on internet speed). Do not disconnect the iPhone.
If the iPhone exits Recovery Mode during the download, repeat Step 1 to re-enter Recovery Mode.
