How to Resize a Photoshop Document (Change Resolution and Canvas Size)
A Photoshop document can be resized in two different ways. The first method to resize a PSD is to use the canvas size. Canvas size will rescale the base of the documents, without changing the resolution or size of the layers. All of the layers will then need to be resized and changed to better match the new canvas size.
The second method that can be used to resize a Photoshop document is to change the image size. The image size will change the entire document size as a whole. This means the canvas resolution will be changed, and the containing images and layers will be resized to match the new resolution.
