Let's Play Crash Bandicoot 2 - Part 12: Bees in the N. Gin
We start off this video, and end the fourth warp room, with what is probably my least favorite level in the game...level 20, Bee-Having. It has the same theme as level 17; the important difference is that the beehives now spawn FIVE bees instead of just one. Your choices are either to outrun them, dig underground to avoid them, get rid of all of them at once with a VERY precisely-timed spin...or get stung and die. This level would be no problem at all if those bees weren't so aggressive...ugh. This one also has a secret area with the Purple Gem, but no gem pathway or death route (fortunately). Before I knew about the special dirt that you can dig under, I used to die so much in this level it's not even funny. The subsequent boss, fortunately, is much more fun. We face off against Dr. N. Gin, Cortex's right-hand man (in this game, at least). He wants Crash to hand over the 20 crystals he's collected so far...which is why he's showing up in a fully-armed giant robot suit. There's nothing suspicious about that! His machine has five parts: the two clawed arms, which can fire laser beams at you; the shoulders, which can shoot missiles; and the middle, which emits large beams that melt away your platforms. You have to destroy them in that order (arms, shoulders, middle part) by throwing Wumpa Fruit at them. Yes, Crash can throw fruit in this battle; no, I don't know why either. Beating him gives us a comment about Cortex being displeased, followed by Cortex showing that...well, he is displeased. We also gain access to the fifth, and final, warp room.
