Time for another LP video...and about darn time, too. If I'd recorded the last part of this at the same time as the rest, it would have been out probably two weeks ago. It's also time for the fourth warp room! The theme of the warp room seems to be some sort of mine. We start off here with level 16, Hangin' Out, which is the third and final sewer level and contains the second secret level entrance. Beyond that, the only thing worthy of note about this one is that it's heavier on the hanging, as the name suggests; there are plenty of metal lattice grates for all here. Level 17, Diggin' It, is more significant, partly because it has an entirely new level theme. I guess it's mountainous terrain or something; it looks sort of like the chase levels, except without the chase part. There are several new enemies to contend with, most noteworthy being large plants that spit exploding seeds (the Crash Bandicoot analog to Venus Fire Traps, maybe?) and can only be killed with a body-slam and bees that continuously spawn from their hives once you've reached them and chase you until you get rid of them or get to a certain point. The plants mainly just require decent timing to get past the exploding seeds, but the bees...well, let's just say they're not so bad now, because they only spawn one at a time and you can get rid of them easily enough (unless you're busy trying to contend with exploding seeds, intermittent streams of electricity, bottomless pits, etc.). Mark my words, though, later on, you will grow to dread that "buzzzzZZZZ..." sound that you hear when one of them spawns. Level 17 also has a death route, and a pretty easy one at that (at least, for being this far into the game). The only annoying part of it is that you have to go through the normal part of the level in addition to the death route if you want to get both gems, so backtracking is mandatory. Oh, yeah, the level name? It's called that because there's a certain kind of dirt that you can dig into that is found only in this level theme. Meanwhile, there is the ever-present threat of Cortex and whatever sneaky business he may be up to....
