Hiro and his friends may have recovered the legendary Daikatana but such as time travel is, that doesn't stop Kage from using the very same weapon against them. Hiro may be descended from the one who forged the blade originally but he knows nothing of its power while Kage has devoted many years of his life to unlocking its full potential. As such Hiro and his friends were no match for the owner of the Mishima Corporation or the terrible power he wields, flung far back in time to a place where Kage hopes they'll die, never able to stop the Mishima Corporation from controlling the world.

Unfortunately for Kage he's made a terrible mistake that a lot of villains do: when given the opportunity to eliminate a threat, the best way to do it is to kill them there and then. By sending Hiro and his friends back in time, Kage has given them a chance of victory, even though it's astronomically slim. If Hiro can learn how to better use the power of the blade he now owns, he can perhaps turn that power against Kage and revert time back to what it was meant to be. All of this could've been avoided if Kage had just shot Hiro and he could easily sort this out now by killing him at any time - quite literally - but he seems content to let him perish in the past and that's a mistake he may not live to regret.

First things first though, Hiro needs to find out not only where he and his friends are but when as well. Let's just hope their presence in the past doesn't change it any more than it already has been. I've said it before and I'll say it again, time travel is terribly complicated even at its most simple.
