Teleportation is a powerful spell in D&D, allowing whole groups to travel vast distances in an instant. When it works it's absolutely brilliant, but it requires powerful spellcsaters to even be able to cast it and a good knowledge of where you're heading else there's a chance it'll miscast. A miscasts transports the people being teleported to somewhere else at random, anywhere from the middle of nowhere to the middle of a dragons lair. Teleport Without Error is a higher level version that never goes awry but requires an even higher level spellcaster to cast it.

If you need to constantly go to one location, a permanent teleporter is a better long term investment. They take a lot of magical reagents, gold and experience to create but having a teleporter that'll take you to that location as many times as you like without error and without needing to prepare a spell pays for itself in time. Having a teleporter leading back is ideal, but sometimes it being a one way trip is sufficient to the creator. Sometimes you can see through the teleporter at what's on the other side, but the ones in this dungeon don't work like that.

The teleporters in this game allow the levels to have rooms otherwise unconnected to the others and makes it so that you don't know how many foes wait on the other side. If you're unlucky you can quickly get surrounded and overwhelmed and the enemies can use them too, though when they do its by accident. When heading into a teleporter for the first time, it's a good idea to be at full health and ready for anything, just in case. That could be said about heading into any new area, but if I rested after every encounter it would've taken forever to get through the second floor. The enemies on this level aren't too bad and with luck, we shouldn't have much difficulty working our way through this level, provided the teleporters aren't too mean. Now if we could get a better piece of armour...
