Let's Play: Make A Good Megaman Level 3 - Part 20
0After what seems like a near century wait (it was really only about 5 years), the newest Make A Good Mega Man Level (MAGMML for short) has been released! I've decided to get on this as soon as possible before I start getting spoiled on the entries. I'll be playing through the levels and reading the reviews along the way and giving some thoughts on each of the levels in the description. Feel free to follow along...
Clearing up Tier 7 today... not much to say here other than it looks like I'm gonna do a lot of fishing...
Reel Man - As soon as I saw who had a hand in this level, I pretty much guessed what the quality would be like and I wasn't wrong. snoruntpyro has a style. Good to Great level design, that borders on unfairly difficult (though never crossing to the point). Of her levels (that I've played) this one... is okay, great gimmicks used well, but a lack of checkpoints hurts it (though I think I'm spoiled from the over abundance of levels that have too many checkpoints).
Skull Sans Megatale 4 - On the other side of the coin, there's this. When this contest was going on, Megalovania wasn't completely over done (though it was getting there), so the song here is acceptable. What isn't acceptable is having to listen to the first 20 seconds over and over and over again. I feel the timing of the obstacles is off and I just could not keep myself from getting hit and falling in a pit. Admittedly, a lot of this is on me as a player, but still, I feel like if the enemies were just a few frames slower, it would make a world of difference. Also, make sure the level music stops when you enter a boss room next time.
Solar Inferno - I didn't mind this one. I know all the mistakes made in this level were definitely on me. Though, I have NO idea how to get through that last room without taking any hits.
Poudrin Man - I butchered this word... apparently it means ice. Sure. The level was okay, nothing special. Poudrin Man was interesting, very easy and then very difficult. Sadly, just not memorable.
Crystal Tower - Cool aesthetic man is more like it. This was a fun stage while it lasted (and it lasted a while), but I feel more could've been done with the gimmick. Alas, it ends up being memorable for it's aesthetic and not much else.
