Let's Play: The Plutonia Experiment - Map15 - The Twilight
A playthrough of "The Twilight" (Map15) of Final Doom: The Plutonia Experiment for PC, played through GLBoom-plus. 100% kills, 100% secrets (Max-Kill).
19 secrets. 19. Secrets. No, really. If you thought E4M3 "Sever the Wicked" From Ultimate Doom had a lot at 22? This one is worse in the fact that you CAN get every last secret, AND the map is insanely difficult to top it off.
It's all about handling the Chaingunners. Seriously. When a map's monster count is almost 70% of one monster... the figures spouted off in the video are inaccurate and were only guesses. The truth is, this map has 66 Chaingunners as opposed to 11 Revenants. Everything else here is unimportant outside of the Spider Mastermind.
All of your troubles here are going to come from learning how to deal with the Chaingunners. Seriously. Every last bit of it. They are everywhere, in every place imaginable, sniping at you constantly and consistently. Nowhere is safe. At least they can all be handled quickly with well-placed rockets. At least, mostly.
The Twilight decides to make itself a reference to Onslaught in that we have self-resurrecting Chaingunners. Yeah. At least they aren't everywhere though and are in spots that make them a little easy to avoid. On a positive note, you don't have to fight the Arch-Viles that resurrect them if I remember this map correctly.
Everything here needs to be handled with caution and careful aiming. Chaingunners can stop you cold within moments if you don't hurry in taking them out, but rush that too much and the other enemies will make sure you don't make it out alive. Not one of my favorite maps, but I don't dislike it either.
