This is the longplay of the game Knights of The Round, action and beat 'n up game produced and distributed by Capcom, released in Arcades in 1991 and in Super Nintendo in 1994.

As the name of the game suggests, Knights of the Round is a game about King Arthur and his Knights, better known as the Knights of the Round Table, set in a medieval era where knights roamed kingdoms in search of fame and glory.

The game's story begins with Arthur, who had been training himself to be a great knight and pulled out the sacred sword Excalibur from the rock. After pulling it out, Arthur realized his destiny was to become the first King of the Britons. Knights of the Round does not follow the original story. In the game, as soon as Arthur removes Excalibur from the stone, as an adult, he receives a mission from the wizard Merlin: to find the Holy Grail so that it does not fall into the wrong hands, since the Grail is an artifact with terrible powers if it is in such hands. The Grail is stolen and is in the hands of the evil King Garibaldi. On this mission to recover the Grail and unify Britain, King Arthur will be joined by two more heroes: Lancelot and Percival.

The advance is standard horizontal side scrolling, with the possibility of reaching different depths, just like Capcom's classic beat 'em ups. The combos are performed with sequences of blows made with the “Y” button (example: two touches forward + Y allows a stronger and more direct attack, up + Y allows you to attack the opponent. There is also a block button, essential to defeat certain enemies in the game. The player can even ride horses while attacking enemies. The game does not use a special energy bar, so the cost for using special moves (which hit enemies circularly) is discounted on the life bar itself. The game features an action role-playing video game-like level advancement system, with fighters automatically being upgraded to new weapons and armor as they advance through the game. At each level, the characters undergo a complete visual metamorphosis, something quite innovative for the time this game was released. To do so, the player needs to defeat enemies, break barrels and collect treasures to add points and food to recharge energy and also get points. Some larger items can be broken into smaller ones, getting more points. We can play with three characters: Percival has the greatest physical strength, but is slower; Lancelot is much more agile but has weaker attacks and King Arthur has balanced stats.

The game has a good soundtrack, good graphics and a whole medieval atmosphere. The difficulty level is quite high, very Arcade style. It's a good game, albeit a difficult one. Despite being set in Europe, the game was only released in the United States and Japan. Years later, Knights of The Round was re-released in Capcom compilations for Windows and modern consoles. The video is from the SNES version, it was recorded in Single Player, with King Arthur and obtaining maximum score. Hope you like it.
