This is the longplay of Disney's Aladdin, an action and platform game released for several consoles, each with different gameplay styles. This is the Master System version, developed by SIMS and published by SEGA, released in 1994 in Europe and Brazil (distributed by Tectoy).
The game follows the same plot as the movie, which takes place somewhere in the Middle East of the 9th century AD, and includes the characters Aladdin, a young and orphan boy, who lives with the monkey Abu and lives off small thefts in Agrabah; Jasmine, daughter of the sultan and princess of the kingdom, who leaves her comfortable life in the palace, meets Aladdin and falls in love with him; and finally Jafar, an ambitious vizier who wants to take the throne of Agrabah at all costs.
The story revolves around a magic lamp and whoever obtains this accessory can summon a powerful Genie and ask for three wishes. Jafar wants the lamp but cannot access the place where it is, which is a cave called Cave of Wonders, a place that can only be accessed by people with a good heart and Aladdin is persuaded by Jafar to access the cave. The tiger-shaped head at the entrance to the cave tells them not to touch anything but the magic lamp. Aladdin and Abu enter the cave, where a Magic Carpet guides them in search of the lamp. The monkey Abu in an attempt to steal a ruby causes the cave to collapse, but the carpet saves the lives of Aladdin and Abu and takes them the exit. After leaving the cave and losing Jafar, young Aladdin rubs the lamp and a Genie emerges from inside it, who reveals that he can grant any three wishes - except to kill someone, make someone fall in love or bring the dead back to life.
The Genie admits that he would like to be free, as he is a prisoner in his lamp. Aladdin promises to free him with his last wish. Aladdin needs to use the lamp's three wishes wisely, while he needs to stop Jafar's evil plans, win the Sultan's trust, Princess Jasmine's love and the Genie's freedom.
The game is platform style with stealth touches, we control Aladdin through the stages and we have to go through them dodging traps and guards (which can be ignored or stunned with stones), in addition to solving some puzzles. The stages vary between platform and flying carpet stages. The game has one of the best graphics on the Master System, it has the theme songs from the movie and cutscenes that explain the plot. This game is a port of the Game Gear version, which was released worldwide. As this version of Aladdin was made after the Master System was discontinued in America and Japan, this game in its Master System version was only released in Europe and Brazil.
