Marvel Super Heroes - Arcade - Intro & Juggernaut 1CC Playthrough on hardest 8 Star Difficulty [4K]
Full gameplay, longplay, playthrough, walkthrough and guide to Marvel Super Heroes as Juggernaut with ending. Full one credit clear on the hardest 8 star difficulty on the CP System II arcade version. Not that the difficulty really matters as it doesn't change the ending in anyway and this is one of the most balanced and fair A.I. in terms of Capcom arcade game.
Randomised Gaming has covered the Saturn version, but wanted to do the arcade original this time around. To date the arcade version has only been included on the now delisted Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. Which was a rather poorly emulated collection (Hence why we didn't video that version), the only good point being the fact it allowed you to play as the two bosses Doctor Doom and Thanos and the test characters Anita. However they lacked some of the polished they had in the home console versions.
Marvel Super Heroes was the follow up to X-Men: Children of the Atom and released in late 1995. As with the X-Men game, it featured some true fantastic pixel sprite artwork, that looked like the comic book characters had come alive. Until this point, Marvel games had generally not looked anywhere close to how they looked in game. The SEGA Spider-Man arcade game was a rare exception to this.
Marvel Super Heroes still remains the best one versus one Marvel fighter strangely as all the later games went into over the top team battles. As much as we love the latter versus game, you can't help, but feel the later games lacked that pure fighting edge and style. There are times where you just want a one on one fighter.
It's far to say as with X-Men COTA the game is just over the top fun, is it unbalanced, hell yes, are the matches fast and combo heavy, you bet! Plus the game is full of infinite combos, but it's just so over the top it's matches the comic books far better than many others in the series.
The plot draws from The Infinity Gauntlet comic event and is far closer to it, than the two dire Avenger Disney films that just ruined the story and weren't remotely as cleverly written as the comic story. There are lots of background cameos nod in Thanos stages to the comic, they will put a smile on your face.
The main roster is made up of four returning X-Men characters Wolverine, Psylocke and the previous boss only characters Juggernaut & Magneto. Comic book fans will note only Wolverine appeared in the story. The others are all suggested to be disappeared by Thanos. All new heroes join the fight with Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man. In the comic's battle with Thanos all bar Hulk are rather brutally dispatched like Wolverine having his adamantium skeleton turned to spongy rubber.
New villains Blackheart and Shuma-Gorath also join the fight against Thanos, neither appeared in the book, but look amazing in game. Blackheart's father Mephisto and Shuma-Gorath main rival Dr. Strange did appear, which might explain help why they got picked for the game.
The arcade game does seems to suffer from some slowdown and the console ports only made this work. Even the Sega Saturn version when using the 1MB is missing animation frames, noticable Juggernaut's round start walking animation is missing, yet it was in X-Men COTA heavily cut down.
