It is not possible to do Checkpoint 0 glitch in Chapter 3 by buffering a checkpoint retry. Instead, I found a weird alternative way to do it. It might work in other levels too, haven't tested it too much yet.

0:00 - do some pause buffering at the end of Chapter 2, right before the cutscene transitions back to Max's apartment. It's not too difficult to buffer a Pause-menu in the background as the next part of the cutscene begins. Basically the cutscene continues as normal, and there are no immediate effects of having done this...

0:17 - you know the glitch is active if (after waiting a while) you can hear the regular Pause-menu music while the cinematic Pause-menu is open. You basically have two Pause-menus open right now, only one of which is active.

0:33 - anyway, just watch the Chapter 3 intro cutscene normally for now. In fact, you have no choice but to watch it normally, because having started this glitch seems to make you unable to skip it.

0:45 - When Max and Passos appear at the sports field, the buffered Pause-menu suddenly pops up and interrupts the game's loading. Usually, but not always, you suddenly have about 6 seconds to look around as there is a glitched Pause-menu on the screen. Then the cutscene continues like normal.

1:11 - instead, what you want to do is to re-open Pause-menu. This stops the time, and now it may also be necessary to load from last Checkpoint. This seemingly does nothing, i.e. the retry becomes buffered like during any other Checkpoint 0 scenario. But this ensures the Chapter 3 intro cutscene won't continue playing. Congrats, you are now free to control Max and play the level early!

All of this literally has the same effect as in the normal Checkpoint 0 glitch. Max has no gun on him and the level doesn't have any triggers or enemies in it. You also hear Max gasp and grunt in the background for unknown reasons.

2:15 - once you run inside, you can't come back out again. The whole first area is full of turn-around triggers which prevent Max from backtracking.

2:36 - some empty level sightseeing. However, you are unable to play very far in the level like this because there is no elevator at the first floor.

3:41 - around this time I also noticed that choosing to Retry from the menu instantly resets Max's animations, which can cause various side effects. More on this later, but in this clip I interrupt Max rising up from prone, which makes his feet become locked to the ground. Can't run anywhere ever again, so you become stuck.
