Samus's Log: "I have one last task here and I can leave this infernal place behind. In hindsight, why could I not ask the Federation to deliver this precious item to me? Why make the trip? Oh well. At least I got to get more swag for my suit that I'll probably lose again. I swear, I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached..."

We're back! For something that can't be replaced! It's also where the game FINALLY becomes a Metroid game! We have free reign of the Bottle Ship, able to go anywhere and finally collect everything! Except....we won't. If you want a 100% run, you can go elsewhere! It takes WAY too long to get everything and you get nothing for it. Most OTHER Metroids give you SOMETHING if you beat the game with everything, but not this game! Plus, we've beaten the whole thing...we don't need these upgrades for anything!

Before we get REALLY going...let's fumble with the menus and go to the Characters screen. As we go through the game, it'll update on a given character's status. EVERYONE'S DEAD...except KG. This MIGHT lead you to believe that he was the Deleter, however we know that the Deleter dropped one body in lava, so that would cover KJ. By process of elimination, the Deleter MUST be James Pierce. Remember back when we entered the Examination tower? He was...fiddling with something in there and later on it explodes. Not a coincidence. Plus there's the fact that communications were jammed...and he was the communications expert. It would seem that when he came to try to off (or maybe just incapacitate) MB she got the drop on HIM and killed him. Really annoying that NO ONE talks about the Deleter besides Samus. Adam says nothing, and neither does Anthony.

And now, Desbrachians! That's right, the enemies introduced right at the end of the game have been here all along! Sealing up doors, laying dormant! One Power Bomb will wake 'em up and we can fight them outside of a horrible first-person perspective.

They're no joke, among the strongest enemies in the game. They move quick, hit hard and instantly warp to you in the air to slam you down if you jump so...don't. If you take too long to kill them, they'll retreat to their shells and heal...though not to full and eventually they'll stop trying to heal if things go on too long. You'd think Super Missiles might be the go-to but really...the Plasma Beam does wonders!

Defeating these things unlock some new areas, which, through some backtracking, leads us to our final challenge. There's a bit of an edit here...I didn't quite realize that elevator room had nothing else for me. Ascending one long spiral corridor we have a miniboss rush. Mighty Griptians, some Kyratians, Elite Space Pirates.....Rhedogian again?! MULTIPLE ones? Seriously?! I suppose this highlights how strong Samus is. But with MB gone, where did these things come from?!

Well, we got that answer quick. Say hello to one last old face: Phantoon!

He got BIG, didn't he? Constantly shooting projectiles and sending gross hands at us, it's a stressful encounter! Super Missiles don't seem worth it, so stick with the beam. With SO many attacks coming our way,I have to wonder if its possible to beat this boss without getting hit?

One boss later and we find our way to our goal....his helmet? That's it? I have to laugh at the big swell of dramatic music cut of by the WARNING siren. And now the game is complete with an escape sequence, in our Zero Suit no less! ...why does she not put her suit back on? Like...it's KINDA cool to see the Zero Suit again but.its also dumb.

Upon beating the game you unlock Hard Mode, by the way. It remixes certain enemy encounters and ups damage, but more than anything you get NO upgrades. That's 10 missiles, 99 energy AND the slow, default charge speed. That doesn't exactly seem like FUN to me, so I won't even bother trying it. Masochists can totally get in on that though!

Some last observations here. 1) We see Nightmare is nowhere to be found after our battle with it, and while I don't show it here, Ridley's corpse is also missing. Considering the facility that is the setting of Fusion has both of them stored there, that's likely where they went. Some decent continuity! 2) We see in a flashback Adam trying to warm Samus about MB but...why could she not hear him? This is never addressed. Lastly, 3) I show you my save files right at the end here to PROVE I've 100%'d this game. TWICE.I deleted my second run so I could have a save file for this recording playthrough, then copy it to another file just in case things went wrong with a recording. Not too many more Energy Tanks, but a LOT more Missiles. That's most of the collectibles in the game, annoyingly enough.

As for my next project, I'm not sure what to do next! I have some Monster Hunter to go through yet...that's a long series though. See you next time!
