MiSTer FPGA - Alien Crush / Turbografx-16 (PC Engine)
Today's 2nd video is Alien Crush for Turbografx-16. This is a fun one, though I vastly prefer Devil's Crush with it's properly scrolling screens instead of the segmented approach they had in this one. Still better than most classic video pinball games I've played, and the beginning of the Crush series which I think is still the best in the genre. Some of these bonus/boss rooms are difficult with the in-your-face obstacles that can send you down the gutter instantly when you hit them. In those cases sometimes its best to spam the flippers in the hopes to catch the ball while it sinks, when things are front and center. Love the H.R. Giger influence in this Compile classic.
There was a pseudo-sequel that released on Wii called "Alien Crush Returns", and I recommend checking out "Demon's Tilt" on Steam for a more modern take on this kind of pinball. Fantastic Pinball on Saturn is an anime-style take on this formula, and Pinball of the Dead for GBA is a good one as well- based on the House of The Dead series.
