MiSTer FPGA - Dracula's Castle / Game Boy
0Barely over a year old, this modern Game Boy homebrew game got a full cart release in 2019. I had this recommended to me a while back and hadn't tried it until now. Glad I did, because its actually a pretty fun game. Gameplay centers around unlocking the three chests while avoiding the enemies and trying to get the weapon as quickly as possible so you can defend yourself on the way to the next floor. You have to acquire the weapon on every stage in this one, so you are completely unarmed at the start of each floor and must try and dodge enemies until you can get your weapon. You can switch the language to English by pressing Up + Select at the title screen, and it even swaps the logo! Very cool. This game can be rather punishing but I plan to come back and try to clear it in the future. I played 1 credit in this video, to stage 12.
