MiSTer FPGA - From Below / NES (Famicom)

From Below is a new 2020 homebrew NES game that was made by the same devs from the recently-released Witch n' Wiz: https://youtu.be/qZZIc1gNmrE . It's a Tetris clone with a Kraken-like beast trying to mess with your rows from below as you play. Features nicely-detailed artwork in the background with a cycling color palette, and a 'traditional' mode that removes the Kraken. Includes some catchy music, but the ending sound is very high-pitched and loud!
The full version is available for free in the link above, and even has a special ROM for use in vs. system cabinets! There was a limited cartridge release for this also, but those do not seem to be available anymore.
The homebrew community has a lot to offer for fans of classic NES gaming. The extents that they push the hardware in different ways is still fascinating to me, especially with music. Check out the NESDev community forums for other developments and homebrew magic: http://forums.nesdev.com/
