MiSTer FPGA - Double Dragon II (双截龍 ダブルドラゴンII) [2 Player] / Technos Arcade
0Following up on our playthrough of the first Double Dragon, we decided to give the second game a go and found it to be more enjoyable, for the most part. This is largely because it has much less slowdown in two-player mode. The ending was decidedly worse though, with the two shadows you have to fight. Those only exist to chew through a bunch more quarters after you've already beaten the game, and is a very cheap-feeling way to finish the game after going through everything here.
The original Double Dragon series are arcade classics, and set the stage for an entire new genre, along with their predecessor, Renegade, which was also the first Kunio-kun game (River City Ransom, etc..). Like many entries in the Kunio-kun series, this one features exceptional music, with very catchy and well-composed melodies.
