**Warning: Heavy composite scanlines used in this video! Watch fullscreen @1080p quality to reduce visual noise/banding.** This is the absolute worst "game" I've ever played. Just a steaming pile of garbage through and through. I wanted to record some footage to show the actor's scenes a bit, as well as some of the "gameplay". The real horror in this game isn't the enemies or sequence of events that unfolds.. it's the game itself even existing.

Use the timestamps if you want to see just the drama scenes and skip the shitty gameplay sections, that do not make sense from an outside perspective, if the player is doing it "right". It really becomes a disjointed mess if you play the way its intended.

In this video, I start by ignoring the "gameplay" of trying to trap the goons in black, just to show some of the acting scenes, and then when I eventually get a game over, it restarts from the beginning with me going through the rooms and trying to trap the goons. After I trap a bunch of them, I just gave up because its an incredibly dull and mind-numbing experience, and revert to showing some of the later drama/acting scenes that I wasn't able to get to in the first try. As a bonus I used the secret code at the end to show the original developer review session for the game at Hasbro. After that, the game dumps out to the Sega CD 1.10 USA bios, and we get a glimpse of the scaling and rotation effects that Sega integrated into Sega CD, but were hardly even used at all.

The heavy composite scanlines are here because of the abysmal video quality, a trademark of the SegaCD platform which very rarely was overcome in most western releases. Some JP games like Timegal have decent video sequences, but oddly enough even in that one, if you check the intro to the US release, it looks even worse than the Japanese original because of the re-encoding they did.

I plan on never touching this game again, and deleted it from my SD card immediately after recording this.

SCAT, indeed. Love how they worked Sega into that acronym. lol
