Monday Vlog: MILS Plating The New Lego City Space! (To Say I Went Full Send, Is An Understatement!)
In todays video, we finally have the parts to make the MILS plates that will fill the new space made with the new table. On Friday we added a new table, and then separated the city. Today, we need to fill that space. In the time in-between I did start moving buildings off camera. In this I put the Fishing store to the back, the Medieval Blacksmith to the middle, the Tree House in the back corner, and the A-Frame Cabin on the far side. In addition the Minecraft The Red Barn has came back. First order after understanding the arrangement was to plan the plates to be made for their future purpose. This resulted in making a special 64 x 32 baseplate that serves three functions, the future Hokus Pokus set, a graveyard, and a waiting lot for the Haunted House. Next up was laying out plates to make a buffer between the Light House, The Fishing Store, and the Tree House. This was done by making a 16 x 32 plate either side of the Fishing store. I then laid out the plates that bridge the ocean to the sand and then to the grasses area. I also expanding the ocean out another plate and a half. Once all this was done I took the top row of the city out and slid everything forward. Then I started adding friction pins everywhere I could, to begin locking the city tight together. I did careful measurements to make sure the city was sitting perfectly square. Once this step was done, I had a crossroads decision to make, clean up the small items and minifigs from the work, or do that and start adding some stores and ideas too. I ended up doing both. I also dusted of the Creator 3 in 1 sets the Noodle Shop and Cozy house to mark a space for those sets once they are done getting reimagined. I have to purchase an extra set of each and I have neat rebrickable instructions at the ready to get them done. This all was a lot of work. Thank you for watching. I really hope you enjoyed the video. If you did please Like, Share, and Subscribe!
