The Creator Up-Scaled Lego Minifigure!! (Starting Our Huge Month Of Builds, With This Little Guy!)
In todays build and review, we take on the Lego Creator Upscale Minifigure set #40649, with 654 pieces. This is a special set as I have just recently grown fond of minfigures and learn a new basic understanding of them. What draws me in is the fact that this form on minfigure this takes inspiration from is the classic form. No facial expressions like in newer Lego sets, just a simple smiley face with now print detail on the chest or legs. In the unboxing we find 5 building steps, with step one having 3 bags and two having 2 bags, the rest of steps have 1 bag a piece. We do find a thin booklet to build, no stickers, and the top part of the minifigures hat. The build was done in one hour and used primarily mid sized bricks. In my review, I go over the internal details first, there are a lot of pieces that make the arms and legs that ensure that the minifigures arms and legs have resistance and stays in whatever stance you choose to leave him in. Externally he is made of red, blue, and yellow brick and is nicely built. The face does have a printed element of his smiley face and the hat contains a secret chamber. Within the hat a actual minifigure can operate the upscale minifigure in a way that resembles a mech. I over all am super happy with this build, especially at the $50 price tag. The only issue with the build is, I wish Lego would’ve found a way to at least move the head by the minifigure inside the hat. This is a definite recommend to people who love cute unique quirky sets, but if you are desiring something more challenging at the price you may want to look into Technic.
