Bad news. My already shitty PS1 gamepad that I used to record stuff on computer finally broke for good. While I'm not too heartbroken about that piece of junk (it was the same one that already gave me trouble during the Abyss runs), it means that I won't be able to record anything Tales related until I'm back home (no, I'm not going to use the keyboard for NDX xD). Since I return on the 12th, that's not too much time, and I still got a few videos ready.

Anyway, gramps' greatest strength is his access to a lot of low-tier spells - you know, the ones that are cast almost instantaneously and which are hard to absurdly hard to dodge. The one that is most threatening here is Lightning since you need to start doing a forwardstep before the spell is activated (giving you even less time to react), and you need enough Agility to make that even possible. At the very least, it's easier to dodge than Storm...Maxwell's physical attacks are almost not worth mentioning, though you should watch your spacing to have enough room to evade. This becomes especially important once he uses his super move with the elemental orbs which cover a big portion of the battlefield. However, this move also leaves him completely open to attacks, though you need to find the right distance to both avoid his shit and still make the hoops hit. It's a good idea to wait with using OB until gramps uses that move on the ground. That way, you can easily spam the living hell out of him.

Also, a little something is that you can actually prevent spells from going off by hitting Maxwell at a very specific moment after a spell is cast. Due to the insane penetrate only being present while casting, Maxwell's penetrate goes to 0 again the frame the spell is cast. However, if you hit him at the right time, staggering him will prevent the spell animation to appear even though the name already appeared on top of the screen. I only got it to work with Tractor Beam (not in this take, though), but it wouldn't surprise me if it's possible with other spells. Still, with NDX' ridiculously fast casting times on Unknown, it's pretty goddamn hard to pull off consistently; with Momo, you pretty much need to throw a hoop before Maxwell even starts casting.
