Operation Thunderbolt - Arcade - Intro, Attract & Playthrough & Alternative endings [4K60]
Full gameplay longplay, playthrough walkthrough, guide of the 1988 arcade version of Operation Thunderbolt from Taito and the sequel to Operation Wolf. This time around a second player can jump in and join the action, along with plenty of sprite scaling. The plot this time around appears to be loosely based on a real world hostage rescued that was called Operation Thunderbolt and took place in 1976.
Once again you play as Roy Adams this time joined by Hardy Jones as you take on and rescue a number of kidnapped hostages. Thunderbolt adds in a lot of new content, but does it make it a better game? Well that's debatable. The level selection system seen in the Japanese version is totally gone and the developers made so much use of the sprite scaling, that some of the levels feel very bland compared to the Operation Wolf.
This one is even harder than Wolf in many regards as well and again it all comes down to power luck if you survive some stages. That in said this game feels a lot more preset in it's enemy patterns and the game is a touch easier with two players.
Still it's a fun arcade game and certainly good fun with a mate to play with. Unlike the first game this doesn't loop, to be fair as each loop after the first was insanely hard that isn't a bad thing.
