Vulgus - Arcade - Attract, playthrough & Gallery (Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Xbox 360) [4K]
Full gameplay longplay, playthrough walkthrough, guide and trueplay of the 1984 Capcom arcade game Vulgus. Captured on an Xbox One using the Xbox 360 back catalogue title the Capcom Arcade Cabinet. Capcom's first ever arcade game remains a very enjoyable shooter. The game features three stages before you take on the final boss at which point it loops and you start over with even more enemies on screen.
Technically an endless game, like many other old school titles, in truth like with most endless games it will likely crash if you survive long enough. Featuring two buttons you have a standard shot and a more powerful and limited missile attack. Which can be refilled by collecting the POW's found on the floor.
For a 1984 title Vulgus showed off a very clever scoring system, one that expert players can really take advantage of. Missile kills reward a bonus for each small enemy killed with the same missile rewarding 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 and 2000. Special groups of flashing blue enemies award a bonus if all six are killed which goes up by 500 points each time up to a maximum of 5000. Clever players can also time them with a missile to hit 5 of them and shoot the last one for the six kill bonus. That bonus is not awarded if all units are taken out via a missile.
Large enemies award 1000 points on being taken down, but you can earn extra points for shots that hit them, so it's better to take them down with standard shots than a missile.
