Puyo Puyo 4 / Puyo Puyo~n - Dreamcast - Intro & Gameplay from various modes [4K]
A gameplay look at all the modes in-game, including a playthrough of practice mode we will save the full quest mode for another video. Two of the endless/survival modes are shown as is the Time Attack and a CPU versus battle, in this arcade style puzzle title.
Next to no one reading this will have likely played the RPG series Puyo Puyo is a spin-off of Madō Monogatari / Madou Monogatari series roughly translated as Sorcery Tale. These largely follow the adventures of Arle Nadja (the girl in the blue armour shown in the intro). This four game really tries hard to improve on the early games, which were often a bit bare bones as a puzzle game. It's kind of odd Compile never did a puzzle / RPG hybrid title as you could do some interesting ideas and hugely expanse the story mode.
As it is, the main quest mode is largely just a selection of preset CPU battles with some story cutscenes. One of the big changes for this game is the new super moves which players earn and use. You can hold up to three and each character has a different move. Even if a few are a little unbalanced and very overpowered. As with pretty much every game in the series it never left Japan.
