Shadow Gangs - Dreamcast - Intro & Gameplay first world and boss (Shinobi homage) [4K]
17SEGA's classic arcade game Shinobi has had plenty of sequels over the years of varying quality. Few games directly cloned or homaged the format and the Dreamcast never got its own Shinobi game either. That was until now when JKM corp decided to bring their 2D take on the format called Shadow Gangs. Which is a perfect throw back to the gameplay seen in the iconic 1987 arcade game original. This video shows off the first two stages and the boss.
You are Dan, a ninja on a mission to rescue his family from the shadow gang, the aim is to use your Ninjutsu to overcome them. Just like shinobi this is a platformer title, with the player able to throw shurikens at long range and use a sword close up to defeat foes and a limited number of mines and super attacks. There are also upgrades and pick ups to grab along the way as well. Just like shinobi each world is made up of two stages before you take on a boss. It's a well put together indie title that Shinobi fans will enjoy.
WAVE Game Studios provided us with a copy of the game to preview and a demo is included with the print version of SEGA Powered issue 5.
