Mario and his partners take the train to Mt. Rugged, and during their climb, he comes across Parakarry, who has dropped some letters in Mt. Rugged. Mario and his partners explore Mt. Rugged, which he comes across a bunch of Clefts and Monty Moles while finding Parakarry's letters.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

To access the train, which is in the southernmost part of Toad Town, blow up the rock with Bombette and then board the train to Mt. Rugged, and I do like how the train is called K64, and the music that plays is a remix of Kalimari Desert from Mario Kart 64.
When you arrive at Mt. Rugged, you can get an Egg from a bush, this heals 5 HP, but it can be used as a cooking ingredient, and when you climb higher, you come across Parakarry, who has dropped three letters around the mountain, and he asks Mario to collect them. You can find some slides on Mt. Rugged, and there are some enemies to fight against, the first one is a Monty Mole, they throw rocks to attack, and they have 3 HP, and you can find a Cleft as well, these guys have 2 Defense, if you bought the D-Down Pound badge, you can use that to ignore their Defense, or you can just run from them, you can use Bombette's Bomb to take them out if you have enough FP to use it.
We then encounter Whacka, if you hit him with the hammer, you can get a Whacka's Bump, they heal 25 HP and 25 FP, making it a great healing item, I recommend saving it for later in the game, but you can only get a limited amount of Whacka's Bumps, because if you hit Whacka up to 8 times, he will disappear completely. The first letter you find is for Merlon, which requires Kooper to get. In the fifth area is a letter to Goompapa, and when I first picked up that letter, I thought it was a typo, because you help Goompa out at the beginning of them game, and what I didn't realize is Goompapa is Gombario's dad. Through the slide in the northern area is a letter to Kolorado, who we will encounter very soon, once you have picked up all three letters, return to Parakarry, and he reveals that he has dropped letters throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, and he joins Mario as our new party member.
In the same room as Kolorado's letter, there is a chest that contains Damage Dodge, this badge decreases the damage Mario takes by 1 when you do the action command, making this a very handy badge to have this early on. Going over Parakarry, he can fly while carrying Mario over, allowing you to access new areas, one of them is a Bub-ulb which gives you a Magical Seed, which you will need for Chapter 6, in the third area is Quake Hammer, which hits all enemies on the ground, and it can flip over enemies like Koopa Troopas and Clefts. In battle, Parakarry has Sky Dive, where he kicks an enemy while flying, and Shell Shot, where Parakarry retreats into his shell and shoots himself at an enemy, this deals 5 damage, making it a very strong move this early on in the game.
By the time you cross the bridge, you will encounter a bird named Buzzar, and he, or she, I don't know if Buzzar is male or female, but he is referred to as male, and he is an optional boss by the way, you have to tell him you are Luigi in order to pass, if you tell him you are Mario, you fight against him, and if you tell him you are Princess Peach, Buzzar will not be fooled and will fight you.
Then at the end is a Save Block and a Heart Block, and Dry Dry Desert is coming up very soon, and I will do that in the next part, and I might show the fight with Buzzar in the next part, or in a later part, because I know he is a really tough boss fight.
