The next character I use for Classic Mode is Samus, and this is a character that did get some upgrades between Brawl and this game, most of them were due to updates to this game. She was made a separate character to Zero Suit Samus, because in Brawl, when Samus used her Final Smash, that was one of the ways to use Zero Suit Samus in battle.
Then to go over Classic Mode in this game, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters that use their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters that use their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, and depending on the Intensity, you fight both Master Hand and Crazy Hand, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight against Master Core, the starting form is based on the Intensity played.
Next is Samus's custom special moves, as this is the only game in the Smash Bros. series to have custom special moves, first is Charge Shot, her neutral special, and Samus does not charge up her shots while in the air, which was one thing she can do in Ultimate. The first custom move is Dense Charge Shot, which is more powerful, but at the cost of range and speed, and it takes longer to charge, and the other variant is Melee Charge Shot, where Samus can use it at point-blank, and the range is better when fully charged, and it is not a projectile. Then Missile, her side special, the first custom variant is Relentless Missile, the missile fired is slower and it deals less damage, but it is better at homing onto opponents, and the other variant is Turbo Missile, the missile fired goes faster and deal less damage, the missiles pause briefly before flying forward. Then her up special, Screw Attack, which gained improved recovery distance from Brawl, although Samus does have her Grapple Beam to get back to the stage, the first custom variant for Screw Attack is Screw Rush, which deals more damage and knockback, but it is less effective for recovery, and the other custom variant is Apex Screw Attack, which deals more damage and knockback, but it only hits twice when used. Then for Bomb, her down special, the first variant is Slip Bomb, which causes opponents to trip, but it deal less damage, and Mega Bomb, which creates a larger blast after a few seconds, and only one can appear at a time.
