I use Marth for this video, and I go through Classic Mode with him, and despite Marth being the Fire Emblem representative in the Super Smash Bros. series, he has been an unlockable character in every Smash Bros. game ever since his Smash debut in Melee, this game is the only exception, because Marth is available on the starting roster. He still speaks Japanese in this game, I don't whether or not I prefer Marth's Japanese voice in past Smash Bros. games or his English voice in Ultimate, but I did like how Marth finally gets to speak English in Ultimate.
Going over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight against characters that use their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters that use their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, on a higher Intensity, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight Master Core.
While Marth was initially a lower-tier character because of the nerfs he received from Brawl to this game, he did get some buffs in some updates, and I will then go over his custom special moves in the description, as this is the only game in the Smash Bros. series to have custom moves. His neutral special is Shield Breaker, and that move can break shields if you didn't already guess by the name of that move, and Marth's sword deals more damage at the tip of the blade, the first custom variant is Storm Thrust, which creates a gust of wind that pushes opponents back, and the other custom variant is Dashing Assault, where Marth dashes forward, but it deals less damage. Marth's neutral special is Dancing Blade, I always found that to be a very tricky move to master, I did like how easier it was to use in Ultimate, but anyway, for the custom variants of Dancing Blade, the first one is Effortless Blade, which deals lower damage, the attacks are easier to hit, but it only allows forward swings, and the other custom variant is Heavy Blade, which deals more damage and knockback, but the hits are much slower, making it require timing to put it to use. Marth's up special is Dolphin Slash, which deals more damage at the start of the move, the first custom variant is Crescent Slash, where Marth rises in an arc while attacking, and it deals more damage at the midway point, but it has less height, and the other variant is Dolphin Jump, where Marth jumps higher, but does not deal any damage. The for his down special, Counter, and Marth is one of the first characters to have a counterattack in the Super Smash Bros. series, the others being Roy and Peach. The first custom variant of Marth's Counter is Easy Counter, which deals less damage, the counter stance lasts longer than usual, and the other variant is Iai Counter, or Rush Counter in Europe, which is faster and knocks opponents backwards, and it deals electric damage.
Marth's Final Smash of Critical Hit is one of many moves that can take out an opponent in one hit, even if the opponent is at a very low percentage.
