Penumbra: Overture with 3D spatial sound 🎧 (OpenAL Soft HRTF audio)

There's only two days left of the Halloween marathon and I bet you've already figured out I was saving the best for last, huh? Here is Penumbra: Overture with OpenAL Soft's HRTF. This game needs no introduction, really. The important thing to note is that Frictional Games was one of the few game developers to actively support the OpenAL API. Well, that is until they switched to FMOD for the release of SOMA (fucking consoles).
Unfortunately, Penumbra: Overture lacks any kind of reverb effects from Frictional Games's later releases. Still, the binaural audio was superb from the get-go. There are few moments in gaming as nerve-wracking as hiding in shadows as a dog passes behind you, knowing that at any second your character could get startled and blow his cover. When I criticized all those Source engine horror games for having poor sound, it's because they should've sounded like this.
