Read the headphones version for more information on the Sony Playstation 2's most obscure feature, S-FORCE 3D Sound Library. Anyway, this is my first speaker HRTF demo on this channel and it's quite an interesting one. Honestly, the speaker HRTF in Silent Hill 2 PS2 doesn't sound any better than on headphones. If anything, it sounds even worse! The effect is extremely subtle. Since consoles were intended for speaker output and true surround sound through Dolby Pro Logic II was just around the corner, I can see why S-FORCE 3D Sound Library was reduced to a virtual surround gimmick on various Sony smartphones and computers.

...I mean really, did the Playstation 2 even HAVE a headphone jack or did Konami just know that Silent Hill 2 was inevitably going to be pirated and played on PC?
