12Hey friends! MosaicArts is back with another Choose-A-Challenge adventure with the long-anticipated squeakquel, Pick Your Poison 2!
Similar to the first iteration, this level has you choose a weapon and a path and fight through a unique challenge based around that weapon. I love levels like this, and like to build them myself. I feel like it goes a long way to let the player have a choice in your level, whether that be an obvious one like choosing a weapon at the start, or a more simple implementation where you might just have a split path or an optional boss or something like that. A lot of times I will get stuck in a very linear mode, but I usually like my creations better when they come out with at least a little variation. And the extra fun part about that is, if you're so inclined to send your levels to YouTubers to play, you get to see a different playthrough from everyone!
Anyways, this was executed quite well, and the weapons felt like they had a nice purpose in the levels they were designated for. For example, early on you'll see that they put those pickaxe-chucking Mets in with the Crash Bombs. Those are a classic target for a Crash Bomb, as it sticks to their shield and the damage goes through their armor. It's stuff like that that really takes your level to the next tier in my opinion -- the thoughtfulness of including something relevant, rather than just unleashing the player into randomness.

Sorry for the length of time it took me to get this and the last one out -- you would think everyone being locked inside their house would be good for YouTube productivity, but it's done the opposite for me. I feel like I'm wasting a lot of my free time, but free time feels meaningless when you're forced to only have that and nothing else. Is it weird to say I miss going into the office a little bit?
