⚠️【Send Me Your Levels Friends!】〖I Wanna Play The Level〗(I Wanna Maker Viewer-Submitted Levels)
I Wanna Maker is here, and it's a new level design engine based around a series of ultra-difficult fangames started with the legendary I Wanna Be The Guy that's somehow completely free on Steam... you better believe we're checking this one out friends!
I Wanna Maker is a perfect little level design engine for us to start a new viewer-submitted levels series around, although I don't know if we'll get a lot of viewer submissions for this one. That might ultimately be a good thing though -- we can focus on the ones that do come in and get them out nice and quick, and it won't be too much of a drain on the time needed for other viewer submission series. Honestly I don't even know if I'll get a single I Wanna Maker submission, but that's what this video is all about -- an invitation to send me your levels friend!
That's the weird thing about starting a new viewer submission series... it's kind of hard to start without the viewer submissions, but you can't really get any viewer submissions without making a video for it. The same thing happened with my ROM Hack Romp series at first -- I had to do my own thing for a few videos before the ball started rolling. A... "similar thing" happened with SMBX-Ventures, except it just died out from lack of submissions before it even got started. That might have been my fault, and might be worth another shot some day if we feel like mixing it up a bit, hahah. And ultimately, that's what this is -- a chance to mix it up with some viewer submissions for a brand new game!
Now, onto the game itself... I Wanna Maker is already a powerful engine packed into a really small-impact design. Opening the editor at first almost seems limited, until you realize all the customization you can do if you really dig in there. Just the rescaling of different objects makes a big difference, then you start putting them in motion, combining them, and ultimately adding triggers and effects, and you have almost a pseudo programming language built directly into the editor. This gives you a small taste of what something like custom ASM can do in Lunar Magic -- the ability to take these existing objects and have them do something truly novel if you're creative enough to come up with it and dedicated enough to make it work within the I Wanna Maker limitations.
Anyways, to wrap it up before I ramble on to the character limit -- I Wanna Maker is a brand new level design engine, I managed to catch wind of it as it was coming out, I really think it could be something big some day, I think the power behind the editor will make the levels seem different and interesting for a long time to come, and I hope you all are excited for a new mini series based around it! If you are a level design nerd like I am, I highly suggest downloading it... I mean, it's free, why not? I had a blast making this video and it's already taken another 5-10 hours of my time since, including multiple hours sucked into the void that is the amazing level editor (and that was before I even truly understood triggers... now it's gonna be unstoppable).
Thanks for stopping by friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful day out there. Send me those Level IDs in the comments and I'll catch you all soon!

---[ Series Information ]---------------
I Wanna Play The Level is a series focused around viewer submissions for the level design engine "I Wanna Maker", which is currently free on Steam. In this series, I'll be playing levels sent in to me by subscribers, and giving them each a video to showcase their design. I'm not sure if I will one day regret opening the floodgates to the Kaizo craziness that is I Wanna Be The Guy / I Wanna Be The Boshy fangames, but hey, it's a little late for that now isn't it?
If you've made a level for this engine, you gotta send it in! I'm sure there won't be a ton of submissions, so leave me your Level ID in the comments and I'll be sure to check it out. If you want to see the rest of the series, feel free to also check out the series playlist here:
