The next Pokémon for Surprise Trade is the Rock-type Nosepass, I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Bold for the Nature and I didn't go for the Hidden Ability. Its Hidden Ability is Sand Force, but it already has Magnet Pull and Sturdy, which are better to have on it, Nosepass's evolution line has high Defense and Special Defense, but its HP is kind of low, and for attacking stats, its Special Attack is higher even though it's kind of average.
For Egg Moves, Nosepass has Head Smash, Double-Edge, Wide Guard, and Rollout, and interesting trivia, Nosepass had Head Smash as an Egg Move in HeartGold & SoulSilver, but it was unable to learn as there wasn't any Pokémon in its Egg Group that can learn Head Smash, and now it was brought back in this game, and for Pokémon in its Egg Group, it can get Head Smash from Sudowoodo. Its evolution Proboapss can get Wide Guard as a level up move, it can get Double-Edge from Geodude, Bergmite, and Sudowoodo, and Rollout from the Geodude and Cufant lines.
Nosepass requires a Thunder Stone to evolve into Probopass, and to go over level up moves, Nosepass can get Tackle, Harden, Block, Rock Throw, Thunder Wave, Rest, Spark, Rock Slide, Power Gem, Rock Blast, Discharge, Sandstorm, Earth Power, Stone Edge, Zap Cannon, and Lock-On, and Probopass can get Tri Attack, Magnetic Flux, Magnet Rise, Gravity, Wide Guard, and Iron Defense. Another thing to note, Proboapss cannot relearn Rock Throw or Harden, but it doesn't need them as Iron Defense is better than Harden, and Probopass does learn better Rock-type moves than Rock Throw.
Next is TMs, and I will go over what Probopass can learn, it can get Bulldoze, Rock Tomb, Volt Switch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Dazzling Gleam, Taunt, Body Press, Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Stealth Rock, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Thunder, Steel Beam, Tera Blast, Sand Tomb, High Horsepower, Pain Split, Meteor Beam, Metal Sound, Curse, and Hard Press. Interesting bit of trivia, Nosepass can learn Steel Beam despite not being a Steel-type Pokémon yet.
Despite the Rock/Steel-type of Probopass being a type known for its great resilience, in competitive battling, this type combo has massive drawbacks, it is 4x weak to Fighting and Ground, both of which are very common attacking types, which makes it one of the worse defensive type combinations for online battles, never thought I would call a type combo that is part Steel being bad, as Steel is a type known for being very defensive, I guess this is what happens when you pair it with Rock to gain glaring weaknesses to two of the most common attacking types.
While Terastallization might seem to be a way for Probopass to change to a better defensive type, like Flying to resist Fighting-type moves and gain an immunity to Ground, it can be really hard when you Terastallize Probopass over any of your better Pokémon. Probopass doesn't see much use, specially when Pokémon like Landorus or Great Tusk are the most used Pokémon in competitive battling, but it does have a niche with Iron Defense and Body Press, and it can set up Stealth Rock, it can use Volt Switch to deal damage and switch out, and while its Special Attack stat is kind of average, it can make use of Power Gem and Flash Cannon, or use Meteor Beam to boost its Special Attack when paired with the Power Herb. Probopass can go with Fighting to increase the power of Body Press, or Water for a better defensive Tera Type.
Probopass has no use in Double Battles, defensive Pokémon don't tend to fare that well, and while it does get Wide Guard, there are better Pokémon that get the move, like Araquanid, Hitmontop, and Garganacl which are better options, some of which are really good defensive Pokémon.
It is at least solid when going through the game, and with Head Smash as an Egg Move, Probopass can be a devastating force early on, as you can get a Thunder Stone early on, and you can evolve Nosepass right away to get one of the most resilient Pokémon in the game, because most of the opponents you fight at the start of the game use Normal-type moves, and Probopass's great defensive type, well for the main game, its typing is bad competitively if it has glaring weaknesses to two of the most common attacking types. It can make use of some Electric-type moves like Discharge and Thunderbolt, and it can paralyze foes with Thunder Wave, but it does take till Level 28 to get Rock Blast, but until then it has Rock Throw or Head Smash till then, and Rock Slide at Level 22. Probopass isn't that easy to use in Tera Raid Battles, while it can be good against opponents that mostly use Normal and Flying-type moves, you don't want to use it against an opponent that has a Fighting or Ground-type move, the Iron Defense and Body Press combo is done better by Corviknight or Bronzong, which are solid defensive Pokémon.
