Onto our next two types for this Wild Area event, from February 1st till February 28th, Fighting and Psychic-type Pokémon will have increased appearances in Max Raid Battles. The following Pokémon that appear in this event include Machamp, Falinks, Lucario, Orbeetle, Gothitelle, and Reuniclus. There was an announcement that for a few days this week, there will be a special event where you can fight Cramorant in Max Raid Battles, and you get a good reward for how many players defeat Cramorant, and the more players mean better rewards.
Next is to go over the Pokémon in the Max Raid Battles, starting with Machamp, it can Gigantamax and its Fighting-type moves become G-Max Chi Strike, and while the boosted crit chance is nice, the Attack boost from Max Knuckle is preferred. Its Hidden Ability is Steadfast, but it is not worth your time, because Guts and No Guard are better Abilities on Machamp, and its moves will vary based on its Ability. With Guts, Machamp can use a Flame Orb and preferred moves are Close Combat, Knock Off, Bullet Punch, Earthquake, and the Elemental Punches, and for No Guard, Machamp would want to use Dynamic Punch and Stone Edge, as those moves will always hit. Machamp is a fairly good Pokémon in Double Battles as it can get access to Wide Guard to prevent its team from being hit by moves like Surf, Earthquake, or Heat Wave, so it is a decent Fighting-type with great Attack.
Next up is Falinks, its Hidden Ability is Defiant, and that is what you want, because if any of Falinks's stats drop, its Attack is boosted by two stages, but it has to be stat drops from moves like Charm, not moves that lower their own stats, like Close Combat. Falinks is a Pokémon that requires strategy to make use of it, because its signature move is No Retreat, this boosts all of Falinks's stats by one stage, but it cannot switch out, and it does get some great coverage moves, like Iron Head, Poison Jab, Throat Chop, Megahorn, Rock Slide, Zen Headbutt, and a few others. While its stats are decent, Falinks is outclassed by better Fighting-type Pokémon, and Galarian Zapdos also has Defiant, so it can be tough to fit in Falinks on a team.
Then the fan-favourite Pokémon from Gen 4, it is Lucario, its Hidden Ability is Justified, which is preferred in Double Battles, or even on Physical sets for Lucario, if you are using a Special Attacker for Lucario, Inner Focus or Steadfast are preferred, preferably Inner Focus so Lucario cannot flinch from Fake Out. Lucario has decently good Speed and it can be used as either a Physical or Special Attacker, on Physical sets, Lucario can use Swords Dance to boost its Attack, and for moves, it can learn Close Combat, Meteor Mash, Blaze Kick, Earthquake, Crunch, Stone Edge, Bullet Punch, and Extreme Speed, and Special sets can use Nasty Plot to boost Special Attack, and it can use Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, Dark Pulse, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dragon Pulse, and Vacuum Wave for possible Special moves, Lucario has excellent versatility for a Fighting/Steel-type Pokémon.
Onto the Psychic-types, and first up is Orbeetle, its Psychic-type moves become G-Max Gravitas when Gigantamaxed, this activates Gravity when used, so I guess it's good for teammates that rely on inaccurate moves like Fire Blast or Thunder. Orbeetle is a defensive Bug/Psychic-type, and it can use Calm Mind to boost its Special stats and deal damage with moves like Bug Buzz, Psyshock, and Energy Ball, and it can use Iron Defense and Body Press on a defensive set, it's a decent Pokémon in battle, although Orbeetle isn't the best Pokémon you will want to Dynamax, or Gigantamax on your team, and its Hidden Ability of Telepathy is more useful in Double Battles, although Frisk is preferred.
Next is Gothitelle, its Hidden Ability is Shadow Tag, which is a handy Ability in Double Battles, which is where Gothitelle sees more usage in, it can be a supporter with moves like Fake Out, Tickle, Heal Pulse, Charm, and a few other moves, and it can use Trick Room to support its teammates. Gothitelle is more defensive out of the two Psychic-type Pokémon, and it does get some decent Special moves like Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, and a few other moves.
Its counterpart Reuniclus is slower, but it has more HP and Special Attack, and while Gothitelle has seen top placements in VGC teams, Reuniclus tends to be preferred in Single Battles, it has Regenerator for its Hidden Ability, although it can make use of Magic Guard, one sets involves holding a Flame Orb and using Trick to give it to an opponent, and it can use Recover to heal off some damage. Reuniclus can learn some good Special moves like Psychic, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, and Flash Cannon, and it can boost its Special Attack and Special Defense with Calm Mind, and it can put Trick Room to good use, I kind of wish Reuniclus had like base 90 Attack instead of 65 so it could make use of all those Physical moves it can get.
