리무루루

카무이의 전사인 나코루루의 여동생. 쾌활하고 장난기 많은 성격이며, 좋아하는 언니와 마을에서 보내는 매일을 즐기고 있다. 얼음의 정령 '콘루'와 함께 행동하고 있으며, 리무루루와 콘루가 호흡을 맞춘 움직임은 가끔씩 언니도 넘어서는 수준이다. 아직 어린아이에 불과하다고 무시하지 말지어다. 그의 순진한 얼음 공격은 그 어떤 거대한 적이라도 얼음으로 바꾸어버린다.

SAMURAI SHODOWN 캐릭터 소개

사무라이 스피리츠 시리즈의 여주인공 나코루루의 동생. 처음 등장 작품은 사무라이 스피리츠 2편으로, 나코루루 스테이지 배경에 곰에 안긴 채로 등장한다. 이것 때문에 당시 차기작에 얘가 등장하면 나코루루가 매를 데리고 나와서 싸우듯이 이쪽은 곰을 데리고 나와서 싸우는 것이 아니냐는 추측이 있었다고 한다. 물론 그런 일은 일어나지 않았고, 그 이후로는 빠지지 않고 등장한다. 나코루루와 함께 시리즈의 간판 캐릭터.

첫 등장한 잔쿠로 무쌍검에서 원래 시나리오상 히로인은 나코루루가 아니라 리무루루였다. 리무루루를 자세히 보면 나코루루를 기반으로 만든 것을 확인할 수 있는데, 3편과 4편에서는 나코루루의 헤드 스왑이었고, 잔쿠로 무쌍검 당시 수라와 나찰 간 표정이 달라지는 나코루루의 기믹을 이어받았으며, 이후에도 (2D 버전 기준) 나코루루와 다운 자세를 공유한다. 그러나 이는 당시 수많은 팬들을 거느리던 나코루루 팬들을 자극하여 여러 항의문을 불러왔고, 내부 사정까지 꼬인 결과 게임이 완성되기 직전에 프리퀄 체제로 급변경되었다고 한다.

언니에게 힘이 되고자 싸운다는 것이 바로 히로인화가 무산된 후 새로 부여된 설정이다. 하하크루라는 메노코마키리를 들고, 얼음의 정령인 콘루와 협동하며 싸운다. 초기 기획이 2대 히로인이였기 때문에 처음에는 로리 캐릭터와 거리가 좀 있었으나, 나나세 아오이를 비롯한 여러 동인을 거치면서 그렇게 되었다. 검객이문록 소생하는 창홍의 칼날에서는 봉인된 상태로 등장한다. 콘루가 작중의 보스인 오보로의 빛의 무녀를 없애려는 계획으로부터 리무루루를 보호하기 위해 얼음으로 감싸고 있고, 그동안 나이도 전혀 먹지 않았기 때문에, 냉동좀비라는 별명이 있다. 열성팬들은 이 '좀비'라는 별명에 격하게 반응하니 그들 앞에서는 사용에 주의. 근데 사실상 냉동인간은 심장박동이 멎어 사망으로 간주되기 때문에 엄밀히 말해 언데드라는 것 자체는 부정할 수 없게 되어 버린다.

위의 프로필에서 알 수 있듯이 언니를 매우 좋아하기 때문인지, 동인지 등에서는 백합관계로 나오는 경우도 있다. 이걸 의식한 것 때문인지는 몰라도 갑자기 사무라이 스피리츠 제로에서 '나코루루와 친자매 사이가 아니다'라는 괴상한 설정이 생겨서 팬들에게 꽤나 충격을 주었다. 스토리상으로는 별 관련이 없으나, 히사메 시즈마루와 잘 어울리는 한쌍이라고 생각해서인지, 동인에서는 시즈마루와 리무루루가 커플링으로 있는 것을 종종 볼 수 있다.[12] 실제 게임 내에서는 별로 그런 분위기는 없고, 다만 네오지오 포켓용 '정상결전 최강 파이터즈 SNK VS CAPCOM'에서 리무루루가 시즈마루에 대해 이야기하는 장면이 있긴 하다. 뭐 그것도 '굉장히 어두운 애였어. 요즘은 통 보이질 않네'라고 말하는 정도. 통 보이지 않았던건 전적으로 SNK의 기술력 부족 때문이었지만.

설정상 아이누족이기 때문에 나코루루와 같이 기술 이름 모두 아이누어로 되어있다.

언니의 힘이 되기 위해 싸우려고 노력하는데, 실제로 그다지 도움 된 적은 없다. 오히려 스토리상에서는 다른 사람에게 피해를 입히거나 민폐를 끼치는 경우가 많다. 때문에 전국을 돌아다니면서 웃는 얼굴로 사람을 도륙하는 패러디마저 존재한다. 무사도열전 드라마 CD에서는 맘대로 카무이 코탄에 나와서 우시와카히메한테 된통당하고 조종까지 당해 나코루루를 포함한 주인공들에게 엄청난 민폐를 끼쳤다. 리무루루 자신도 인식은 하는지, 아수라참마전 OVA에서는 하오마루에게 고민을 털어놓을 정도. 그런 그녀가 제대로 된 도움이 된 건, 창홍의 검 하나일듯.


Rimururu

Rimururu (リムルル, Rimururu), known as Rimnerel in some translations, is a Samurai Shodown series character who has since become one of the most popular characters in the series. She appears in many of the series's merchandise, and even has her own character image CD.

Her prototype design in Samurai Shodown II was formerly a scrapped concept for one of the heroines from another SNK game, Robo Army. According to the creators' commentary for Samurai Shodown V, she is one of the main programmer's favorite characters. In the Neo Geo Freak's 1997 Volume 8 character poll, she was voted as the twelfth favourite character with a total of 840 votes. And in Neo Geo Freak's August 1998 issue, she was ranked as the 8th best character.


Story

Referred to as a priestess of the Ainu religion, she greatly admires her older sister Nakoruru, and like her, strives to protect nature. In her ending to Samurai Shodown V, it is revealed to players that Nakoruru adopts her at a young age. Although she is still training and not as adept as her sister at fighting, she repels evil from the forest for her elder sister. When her sister departs, Rimururu often follows her in hopes of offering assistance. In Samurai Shodown III, she somewhat misread the evil presence in the land to be Amakusa and pursed him. Nakoruru originally forbids her younger sister's attempts to be a priestess but relents once she recognizes Rimururu's resolve.

In Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, Rimururu is a "Maiden of Light" like her sister. She was imprisoned by Oboro twenty years ago and cannot awaken to help her sister. The players need to rescue Rimururu for Nakoruru. When the sisters unite, they seal Oboro and his weaponry after his defeat.

Her resolve as priestess is shaken in Samurai Shodown Sen as she can't hear Nature's voice anymore. Determined to not make her sister worry, Rimururu leaves her home with hopes to find the reasoning on her own.


Personality

Rimururu idolizes her sister and wants to be like her every way possible. Just like any teenager, Rimururu is cheerful and is always seen smiling. Although she always offers to help her sister, she is often left in the dark about her sister's personal problems.


Fighting Style

With her ice spirit Konru, sometimes translated as "Konril", she has the ability to freeze her foes. Her normal attacks are similar to her sister with some modifications in execution. Unlike her sister, many of her moves are short range, giving her a narrower range of efficiency than her sister. However, this may not be a disadvantage as the swiftness in most of her moves make up for it. Like her sister, she may also reflect projectiles with proper timing. In Samurai Shodown 64-2, her Slash form relies more on Konru, making her playing style more defensive. Her Bust form, however, is more aggressive and the more close-ranged of the two.

While Konru is absent from Samurai Shodown Sen, Rimururu is still able to use her ice powers.
