This video comprises over a dozen demos, mostly in clip form, for the challenge of scoring 18 kills and the secret from a pistol start on Scythe's Map 28 'Run From It', taking no damage, whatsoever, a.k.a. 'UV Max + Reality'. This culminates in the new UV Max + Reality World Record demo. The first success is called No Damage Completion, because I also score the item (which is pretty much automatic when you tag the secret anyway). I am grateful to PartyCrasher and Starduster for laying the groundwork in demonstrating the SR50 lineskip at the start of the map. Without their efforts, I could not have maxed this map without taking damage. PartyCrasher first showed how to do it:    • Doom 2 - Scythe map 28 UV-Max demonst...  
Then Starduster set out instructions for the trick: See their 2:51.51 demo on the DSDA link above.

I started out practising the skip using Starduster's instructions and actually succeeded first time! However, the precision of one of the steps was not something I was getting consistently, so instead I focused on the position Starduster ended up in before starting the SR50, and tried to find my own visual cues to line up the same spot. The results were at least 70-80% consistent with practice.

When speedrunning the map, I had to lose accuracy in the setup, but in the later live streams, I found that becoming a bit more careful with the setup prevented my fingers from hurting with the SR50-ing.

I hope to see you guys on stream as I take on Map 29 'Hell on Earth' for No Damage Completion. First practice stream: Sunday 24th November 2024.
