Argh! It's not possible! You absolutely cannot play through this game without maxing out both your coins and your inventory! These limits are stupid! And no, I don't mean when I max out on mushrooms for the Mushroom Boy. Which, by the way, you can get stuff besides Rock Candy from him. I was really hoping to get an FP-recovery item, after selling off half of 'em to make room for mushrooms.

So, after a bit more goofing around (there's a lot of that in this game), I proceed to Land's End. And while the Sunken Ship seems to be the longest dungeon in the game, this place feels longer. Probably because nothing really happens while I'm here.

And then we reach Monstro Town, home of several optional quests. Okay, first off, that challenge to reach 30 Super Jumps in a row? That's why this longplay won't be 100%. I recall being able to reach 30 once or twice before, but I've been using Super Jump a lot in this playthrough, and my score is pathetically low. And guess what? If I ever do manage 30 in a row, I then have to try for 100! I don't think I've ever even made it to 50.

Then there's Culex. I decide to try fighting him here, even though I am way underlevelled for him. He's stronger than the final boss, after all. Though, I somehow manage to survive for a while.

Next comes the Musty Fears. Finding their flags gets you a "Ghost Medal", which "raises defense while attacking"? What? Then I climb Troopas and get a "Troopa Pin", which "grants Troopa confidence"? These items really need better descriptions.

I also fight Jinx. I could probably win his final challenge, but considering how little damage I was causing to his first rematch, it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Finally, what is the purpose of feeding the baby Yoshi?
