Session 7: Bird Brains (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
1While being able to obtain the Quartz Charm this early in the game is pretty cool, it did come at the cost of most of my really nice items. Not that that matters a whole lot, 'cause the game quickly gave them back to me, thanks to even more time-wasting! You know, this game has a lot more distractions than I remember.
Anyway, we head into Bean Valley and uncover the casino. After I'm done at the casino, I sell my access card, because honestly, I don't see myself going there again. One of the prizes I get at the casino is the Star Egg. I forgot to see what it does.
Meanwhile, at Marrymore, I spend the night without paying, and it gets me into trouble. Apparently, I didn't get myself in enough trouble, because I never got the chance to bellboy for the bickering couple, and that makes me sad, 'cause they're kinda funny.
And then we find out there's a spoiler in the clouds. Who'da thunk? By this point, I think it's safe to say I'm a little overpowered. Which is odd, considering how much experience I'm passing up. Maybe it's the new equipment, maybe it's being smart with the bonus stats. Either way, Bowser has become somewhat useless, as I'd only bring him along to inflict poison and fear, and enemies are going down in one or two hits right now.
I wanna talk about Birdo real quick. She's got high defense. She's also got this attack where you could bounce eggs at her. I never figured out how that worked, so until now, I've always just stuck with my physical attacks. But this time, since I'm on camera, I decided to experiment with her. And apparently, the bouncy egg strategy is actually worthwhile due to a pattern. Cool.
...So, why is Valentina wearing a live parrot as a wig?
