I haven't done a Sonic video in awhile. And I've never done a full playthrough video of anything. Well if this counts. This is a code free playthrough. It's just the game as normal after pressing start. You cannot select characters and there are no options. You simply start with Sonic and Tails.

This is the Simon Wai prototype. That's what my other Sonic videos featured. There are many differences between the prototype and the final version. Mainly the levels are certainly not finished and are in a different order. The game starts you out in Aquatic Ruin. You then proceed to Chemical Plant, Hill Top and finally, a near finished Emerald Hill with a near finished version of the first boss battle.

There are no enemies in the first three zones. But there are a few hazards. There are also no checkpoints and no special stages. The goal signs are in weird places sometimes. This is due to levels being unfinished and boss battles not being implemented in most zones yet. Tails acts a little wonky and doesn't follow Sonic properly much of the time. His flying animation has not been implemented yet.

There are plenty of spots where platforms and certain aspects of level design are missing. So you can't fully explore without codes. Chemical Plant has a very frustrating problem with tiny yellow platforms. They were made bigger in the final version.

I didn't explore every possible area in each level. Mostly because there were places I couldn't get to without codes and there are spots that are unfinished enough to spell your doom.

I edited out a death at the end of Chemical Plant's second zone because there are no checkpoints. I didn't realise putting this through Virtualdub would bloat the file size up so big. But other than a bit of blur when Sonic's gotta go fast it looks pretty nice. Not sure if I'll bother with that again though. It takes forever.
