Spyro DotD - Unused Attack "Black Combo"
Each dragon has its data stored in a CKS08Hero object. Near the end of that data is a pointer table with 10 entries for elemental attacks. These pointers point to the attack object itself. At the beginning of these objects is a pointer to its class name (that is true for most if not all objects in the game). Each dragon only has 9 elemental attacks (4 standard elements with 2 attacks each, and then Fury which uses the same attack for both buttons), meaning one pointer is left unused per dragon. Well, this pointer actually points to a valid yet unused attack! For Cynder, it points to a CKBlackCombo object. You can use this attack simply by swapping the value of another attack pointer with the unused one (in this case, I swapped Ray of Darkness with Black Combo)!
This attack is clearly unfinished. It behaves like Scorpion Strike on the ground, but using it in the air does not remove the flying state, which glitches the momentum and even forces Cynder to go backwards at lvl Max. The Phantom Fright projectiles, which only spawn when bouncing on the ground at lvl Max, do not deal any damage or combo (which is oddly similar to the Venom projectiles of lvl Max Scorpion Strike not working). Black Combo levels up with Dark Fury (which levels up with the number of upgrades, and its XP system is kinda broken, you get lvl 3 after 7 upgrades instead of 8 and lvl max after 10 upgrades instead of all 12). This attack deals Fury damage and 1 combo per hit, yet applies the Poison effect which deals additional damage and combos over time. It always cost 60 mana points (30 with Fury Bracers) no matter the level, unlike other elemental attacks. Damage depends on the upgrade level and is affected by Silver Helmet (which increases elemental damage by 20%)
Lvl 1-2 ; Base 80 damage per hit (96 with Silver Helmet) + Poison damage.
Lvl 3 ; Base 140 damage per hit (166 with Silver Helmet) + Poison damage.
Lvl Max ; Base 240 damage per hit (288 with Silver Helmet) + Poison damage.
