Stardew Valley 182 :: Deforestation on Ginger Island
It is Monday, the day when the special orders and Mister Qi quests reset! For our weekly special order, we get Robin's Resource Rush where we have to collect 1000 wood! Unfortunately, we have already chopped down all the trees in the Cindersap forest, so we are forced to cut the trees on Ginger Island!
The tea leaves are ready for harvest on the tea bushes, indicating that winter will soon be over! What can I say, time sure flies when you are having fun! We check the forecasts for the weather and daily luck on the television. Outside the farm, we clear our inventory of items before harvesting Qi Fruit!
Today's harvest of Qi Fruit provides us with more than enough fruits in total to complete the quest! We stop by the animal pen to pet our animals and check the silo to see whether they have adequate amounts of food. It is still slightly more than half full so we can wait for another day to add more hay!
We see that Robin has completed construction of the well! Next to the well, we remove the iridium sprinkler as it can no longer water all the tiles around it! We visit the mushroom cave before heading to Robin's shop to move the Junimo hut! The hut gets placed between the giant pumpkin and the well, in the middle of the farm plots.
As we ride our horse to town, we meet Alex on the way to the bath house! We pick up our weekly special order at the town noticeboard, where we have a choice between Robin's Resource Rush and Gus' Famous Omelet. Since we had done Gus' special order twice already, we decide to pick Robin's!
However, there is a small issue with the quest! Throughout the entire season of winter, we have been chopping down every tree we see. Without any trees that are fully grown, it is going to be difficult to gather 1000 wood in a week! Fortunately, we have some solutions to this problem!
Back on the farm, we keep away our iridium-quality products and our Qi Fruit. Now that we have more than enough Qi Fruit to complete the quest, we can use a few of them for our own purposes! We place two Qi Fruit in the preserves jars in order to make some rare jelly!
Next to the well, we place down quality sprinklers in a new arrangement! Then, we start chopping down the wild spruce trees that have grown near the ones we use for producing pine tar with tappers. This gives us a good amount of wood, but still nowhere near the amount that we need for Robin's special order!
One place that we can think of that still has trees is our favourite tropical holiday destination, Ginger Island! At the beach resort, we chat with Leo, Kent, Gus, Caroline and Lewis. Then, we go to the island farm and chop down some of the palm trees! We refrain from cutting all of them however, since they produce coconuts and golden coconuts!
On the island farm, we harvest our pineapples and ancient fruit as well! Once we have cleared most of the trees on the west of the island farm, we visit Mister Qi for our weekly Qi Gem quest! Gladly, we pick Skull Cavern Invasion as we have already done Qi's Hungry Challenge four times!
We scroll through Mister Qi's shop, but we don't have anything in mind that we want to buy! We head to the island dig site and clear away the debris for a few resources. Sadly the mahogany trees at the dig site drop hardwood, which does not count for Robin's special order!
Since our inventory becomes full, we use some of our wood to craft a chest, where we leave some items by the river! After we have cleared the dig site, we head to the volcano to look for more palm trees! Seems like even the trees here have been cut down... There are still some near the island trader though!
We know of one more place where we can find trees, at the Stardew Valley quarry! We pick up some items from the chest at the island dig site before taking the parrot express back to the farm. Touching the obelisk brings us back to Stardew Valley! We store our items, smelt radioactive ore and brew more pale ale.
Then, we proceed to the bus stop and take the minecarts to the quarry! Here, we find a few maple trees. Even after we chop them down, we still need more wood for Robin! We decide to craft some tree fertiliser and use them to grow trees on the farm in winter.
Hopefully these will be fully grown before the deadline of Robin's Resource Rush! We barely make it to our farmhouse before we pass out for the night. While sleeping, we hear a strange hooting sound! Is Leah dreaming about becoming an owl? I guess we will find out tomorrow!
