#SuperOldGameSaturday - Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Sega Saturn) - Part 4
Recorded/Aired on August 24th, 2024
We're back to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for Sega Saturn here on #SuperOldGameSaturday for Part 4, where Nocturne is back to once again lead us through the final main world of the game, Castle Zone. We ended here last time and, given how hard its first stage, The Tower of Power, is, Nocturne decided to do off-screen life-grinding back in Desert Zone to be set for this last part of her blind run through the main story of this 1997 3D collect-a-thon platformer. However, as she found out and explained to us in this video, the way maximum lives in this game works and how the game saves them (or doesn't) on the back of that is a strange case and one that I don't think there's any other online indication of for this game. As such, I thank Nocturne for diving deep into this cult hit to find something that is perhaps undocumented about the game (which is getting a new HD version soon, as shown in its first trailer unveiled on the same day as this upload), but also for showing us the rest of Castle Zone and the final showdown with Baron Dante to rescue King Gobbo, which we both found surprisingly delightful. As has always been the case with this game, neither one of us has really seen the entirety of it before this play, but that's made for a great discovery for us both, as well as with the input of the best chat on Twitch that joined us this time with both new and old faces. As far as the rest of this game, we're going to have another part on September 28th, but before then, Nocturne will be doing the 100% clean-up to unlock the hidden levels and extra world, which she will be doing at some point between now and the next part as a livestream on her Twitch site (linked below, so check her out) and will then be added as a YouTube-exclusive upload here. We both had a great time with this last blind look at the game and we're looking forward to completing this one fully either next month or in early November. Until then, though, sit back, relax and hope you enjoy Part 4 of Croc (and if you like what you see, stop by / captainditrag to see these streams live and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week and also, to see the schedule for our next show)!
