Happy Halloween from all of us here on #SuperOldGameSaturday and, to celebrate the day, we have our final Halloween Block show from this year that functions as our first look at a horror franchise from Namco, a look at a system that has not been discussed enough here and a Mini console showcase. We're playing Splatterhouse, the 1988 Namco arcade beat-em-up game about Rick Taylor and Jennifer Willis who, after taking shelter in the West Mansion on a dark and stormy night, get themselves into a lot of trouble, requiring the Hell Mask to resurrect the murdered Rick to save the kidnapped Jennifer. However, we're looking at its admittingly censored 1990 port for the TurboGrafx-16 via the TurboGrafx-16 Mini console so, along with our full play of this risky and underrated horror classic, we also took a look at the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, discussed all of its 52 games (many of which, like this mini console now, cost A LOT of money) and showed off a few other games as a preview, including a few requests from the best chat on Twitch and a few others I picked out, including some other fitting choices for the holiday today. Myself and chat had a great time discussing Splatterhouse and every aspect of it, while also sharing our memories and learning more about the TurboGrafx/PC Engine line (which I certainly needed) and some of its great hidden gems, along with some of the games that were the face of this underrated console line. We all had a great time going through everything on this show (and the timestamps for every part of this show are below) and I thank all of you for joining us for this show and also, for making our Halloween Block of 2024 so great with your suggestions and contributions.
