#SuperOldGameSaturday - Shadow Hearts (PlayStation 2) - Part 3

"Oh boy! It's actual Shadow Hearts time!" True words of wisdom indeed from cazim22 in the chat as TheCrochetNerd64 takes us through Part 3 of Shadow Hearts for the PlayStation 2 here on #SuperOldGameSaturday and getting us to a terrific stopping point for 2022 on this underrated RPG (that I tagged for early celebration of Twitch's #WutGamesWeek for hidden treasures in gaming that finally show them getting onto our level for what we do every week on their platform). Last time, Yuri Hyuga, Alice Elliot, Li Zhuzen and Margarete Zelle reached Shanghai on their quest to prevent the Dehaui from unleashing the Demon's Gate Invocation, but it's going to take the Votive Picture of the White Tiger, held by Masters Xiaofang and Xifa to do it, resulting in us heading through the underground caverns to do so, but man, I'm only scratching the surface of where the story went in this part. We played up to (and a little past) what TheCrochetNerd64 refers to as "Intermission", where all the twists, turns and character details that lead up to the sole CG cutscene of this part left me, someone who's never played this game, completely speechless in the best way possible. So, yes, a LOT happens in the story this part and all of it works so well, making for another can't miss show, but along the way, the chat, myself and TheCrochetNerd64 went deep into this game, our memories with the sections covered here, historical elements of this game and much more, including framerate discussions (including one of the most perceptive insights of that I've ever heard), lore of other game franchises and discussions on the Game.Com of Tiger's, The Sims franchise, bizarre large vehicle and bus-related driving games and semi-previews to future games we'll be covering on the show. I once again thank the chat for adding to this great play again, as well as TheCrochetNerd64 for his contributions to our program this entire year and with this game, which I'm eagerly awaiting Part 4 of on January 14th, 2023.
