#SuperOldGameSaturday - Tomba! (PlayStation) - Part 1
Recorded/Aired on Friday, November 8th, 2024
We here at #SuperOldGameSaturday have the best chat on Twitch, as I always say, because it's true and because they believe in the mission of our weekly gaming town hall and come up with great requests of games that mean so much to them and that I just love to bring to them once a month with the deep and meaningful treatment that they deserve (despite what some past guests may have said, which I clearly am now showing my willingness to fight back against in the names of all of you). For November's viewer request, I had to do a Friday show for this and had a surprise guest of DollyFinn as we started, on the request of OneTrueL, 1997/1998's Tomba! for the PlayStation (as played via the PlayStation 3 port). This cult-hit 2.5D platformer with RPG elements and interconnected areas from publisher Sony and developer Whoopie Camp (made up of ex-Capcom workers, including director/producer Tokuro Fujiwara) tells the story of a feral boy with pink hair who, after having his late grandfather's golden bracelet stolen by the evil Koma pigs, heads off to retrieve it and to help the citizens of the land who have also been victims of the pigs' tricks and spells. Here, in Part 1, we began our full play of this game, including our quest to complete all of the game's Events, go to every area and complete every task and, with DollyFinn here, she gave her (mostly) first impressions on the game, while I also had some surprises at what we saw and where we went, as we went deep into discussions on this game, the origins of details of the game, platforming games (including other games from the people who made this), discussions on content questions on YouTube, frank discussions about how seriously we take our viewer requests and all of you in the best chat on Twitch and much more. We'll be back for Part 2 on December 7th, but for our first part, we got a lot done and had a great time, for which I thank OneTrueL again for this fantastic request and DollyFinn for joining me on this part. Until next time, hope you enjoy our introduction to Tomba (and if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag to see these streams live and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week and also, to see the schedule for our next show, which will be this Saturday, November 16th, at 7 PM EST)!
