#SuperOldGameSaturday - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles + Sonic Jam (Sega Saturn)
Originally Recorded/Aired on April 23rd, 2022
Yes, we're playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles for a second time on #SuperOldGameSaturday, but this was NOT us rehashing our original play of these 1994 Sega Genesis platform classics by a long shot. Case in point, Nocturne returned to the show to help make the first co-operative play of a game for the program as we played through the entire game as Sonic (played by me) and Tails (played by Nocturne), who have their own paths through stages, as we went though our memories/love of this game, found ourselves in some strange, glitchy and/or hilarious situations, mixed it up with the chat, went into our thoughts on the recently/finally unveiled Sonic Origins collection and the recent Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie and, oh yeah, showed off the exceedingly rare compilation we played these games within. Most of this video, to be honest, was us going through Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but we used 1997's Sonic Jam for the Sega Saturn to play it, so that means that you get some interesting differences with how these games run (like Sonic Origins, Sonic Jam is not a straight emulation of any of its included games, and how perfect we did this show 2 months exactly before Sonic Origins' release date), saw some unique glitches that kept us on our toes and, in the last hour, we showed basically all of the feature-packed Sonic World, which also explains why, not counting edits, this is the show's longest currently existing stream so far. I thank Nocturne again for joining me for this game, which we wanted to as far back as the first show she appeared on, and for providing the Saturn and Sonic Jam game to make it happen (and it's Sonic Jam's US version we used, which it must be said, costs over $300 nowadays,) and I thank the chat again for making for another great and jam-packed program that stands out from (and nicely accompanies) our previous exploration of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Hope you enjoy this special and extended "all Sonic, all the time" show (and if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag each Saturday at 7 PM EST to see these streams live, and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week)!
