The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind | Redoran and Hlaalu Hortator
#letsplay #nocommentary #elderscrolls
I made my way towards Vivec, preparing myself mentally for the upcoming duel. There was no need for shame or fear, this is tradition. Not spectacle of mindless combat for the amusement of both peasants and nobles. This was a step for to be named Hortator of House Redoran. This house has my respect. In the time I spent here in Vvardenfell, I have come to respect the way of the Dunmer people. Life is harsh here and people must learn to deal with the realities of this land lest they fall to whatever may come. Blight, Cliffracers, or the ill temperament of a dishonored person.
The fight was quick. I stripped him of his armor. I returned to Ald'ruhn and spoke with Aythn. With all votes in I am named Hortator of Redoran. I left as quickly as I came in search of votes to become Hortator of Hlaalu. I remember a place in Balmora and I began my search there. They were quick to refer me to Crassius Curio in Vivec. Once again I made the trek there to find a fellow Imperial. This was not a surprise as House Hlaalu focused on reputation, exchange of gold, and diplomacy in hopes of strengthing the ties with unconventional allies.
Curio is... a strange fellow. He would defy his fellow councilmen for merely a kiss. I was hesitant I'll admit, I felt discomfort. In Curio's eyes, there was no hesitation, only passion. Moved by my story to unite Vvardenfell and the depths that I have already made to make this happen... I only felt a pit develop in my stomach. I kissed him. He named others that I would need to convince but I had to convince Orvas Dren as he held power over others. I left as soon as he was finished. There is a certain danger there I would not want to risk.
Orvas owned the Dren plantation. Little did I know he had been supporting the Sixth House and was allied with Dagoth Ur. When I spoke of bringing peace to Morrowind he cut me off and stabbed me with his spear. I couldn't risk killing him for fear of losing the chance at being Hortator so I calmed him and tried to finish what I wanted to say. "I will bring peace to Morrowind and DRIVE out the Empire to maintain Dunmer tradition rather than subject Vvardenfell to multiculturalism." He seemed pleased with that response and said he would talk with the others.
Of course, I felt that he didn't believe me still and stabbed me once more. I would have to make good on my word lest I risk making a powerful enemy. I returned to Curio and I was made Hortator of Hlaalu. I didn't want to be anywhere near the people of Hlaalu they seemed crazy to me. I visited the Telvanni sect in Vivec and I was told to seek out Master Ayron... in Tel Vos. A long trek later and he tells me he had no problem voting for me but the others will prove a challenge...
